Pat is a carpenter and ceramicist based in Los Angeles, and their art practice being a walk in the woods is not a metaphor. Textures bloom in their brain, and their glazing is a response to moss and fungi appearing like furry apparitions on wood and leaves. When creating, the relationship between shape and feeling draws them closer to an informative, synesthetic experience, while recently, they’ve been thinking of material, light and the sense of translucence. Prisbaby wants to make something you want to touch, to hold, something that you can feel beyond your skin. Something raw, profound, simple, obvious–sometimes floating, sometimes grounded.
